Come join me tomorrow at One People Project's pop-up shop in Encinitas next to UNIV! Make sure you get there early to have a chance to pick up their limited edition, One People Project & UNIV collaboration t-shirts - doors open at 10AM. Later on that night, Gabe Vega and DJ Aesthetic will be spinning for the grand opening so you definitely don't want to miss out.
I spent most of today helping out Scott and Brett set up the pop-up shop along with Annabelle and a few others. The guys are gonna have the place looking super fresh so you better come by and check out all the hard work! Here's a little preview of what you'll be able to see tomorrow...

Hope to see you all there!!

On the Stoop

Earlier tonight I was chatting with Scott on iChat and since he wasn't able to make it on this trip, I gave him a video tour of the apt (all 300 sq ft of it) and also of the street view outside. I was kinda sketched out cause 1.) There were two guys across the street looking kinda shady just standing around, and 2.) I looked a little crazy sitting on the stoop talking to my laptop.
He didn't know that I took that snapshot. Haha.. don't kill me!
Anywaaays, just a little while ago I went to Ray's Pizza with Erwin for a late night snack and I saw Brandi C. from that reality show Rock of Love. Its amazing how she looked just as skanky in person as on the show. Josie saw Terry Richardson on the street while we were shopping on Broadway a couple days ago, and all I see is some Z-list reality show ho. How's that fair?? Hahaha.
I'm still jet lagged.. its 3:37 and I need to get some sleep. Good night!

Hello from New York!

Its Day 4 of the trip and I'm already exhausted. The entire trip has been about excess: excessive shopping, excessive eating, excessive walking - with the exception of one thing: sleep. Since we've gotten here, I've been going to bed at around 5AM each night morning. I suppose that sounds about right, considering that I'd usually go to bed around 2AM back in California. Good times!!
I'm probably going to gain 20 pounds by the time I leave New York and here's why:

Where and What I've Been Eating (still in progress):

  • 2 different Ray's Pizzas - pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, Jamaican beef patty* (yeeeahh!)
  • Joe's Shanghai - pork/crab soup dumplings*, seafood panfried noodles
  • Toasties - roast beef sandwich
  • Spitzers - duck confit salad, truffle mac & cheese
  • the Creperie - savory crepe with prosciutto, mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes
  • 2 different Nuts 4 Nuts carts - honey roasted almonds
  • Gray's Papaya - hot dog with everything* (onions, sauerkraut, ketchup and mustard)
  • Salumeria Rosi Parmacotto - variety of Italian tapas including prosciutto di parma and butternut squash risotto

* means something I haven't shut up about since before we left for this trip and therefore also means if you're ever in NY, you gotta try it.

I loooove the food here!!

New York Tomorrow

Tomorrow's the big day! I'll be flying out early tomorrow morning from Burbank to New York with Terry, Josie and Gian. Aside from a few bumps in the road, I'm really excited for the trip.. I know its going to be a lot of fun!
Yesterday, the trip started to look a little unlikely for me. I started feeling a lot of pain in my side whenever I coughed or breathed so I left work early to go to urgent care. The diagnosis? Pleurisy (what is that??). The doctor prescribed vicodin for the pain, and I went back this morning to get some x-rays taken of my chest and lungs as he recommended I do. I'll find out the results in about 1-2 days. Hopefully its nothing serious.
I'm determined not to miss this trip though, even if I'm loopy from the painkillers. See you soon, New York!
