Uncommonly Refreshing.

Its nice to see an artist going against the grain and still holding his own in a mostly gaudy, flashy crowd. And you gotta love his sense of humility. Read the rest of the article here.

Temporarily a Lefty.

The Block Party at House of Blues was an overall success, but for a few individuals including myself, somewhat of a disaster. Unlike previous events at House of Blues, I actually avoided getting completely trashed. Ironically, I kind of wished I had a few more drinks in my system because I ended up catching two of my fingers in the hinge of the bathroom door. X-rays taken at urgent care the next morning confirmed that I had broken my pinky.

My first broken bone!

Regardless of all the drama that night, I still had a good time. Hopefully I avoid any more injuries during this coming weekend's shenanigans. Friday is TK's birthday dinner at the Keating and then Soulstice returns to U-31 on Saturday night. This should be good!

The Block Party - Memorial Day 2009

This coming Sunday is the day before Memorial Day, and you know you don't have work the next day. You still haven't figured out plans for the holiday weekend and you're probably thinking "Daamnn.. where am I gonna get drunk and ignorant at??"

Don't worry about it. You can join all of us other drunk and ignorant people at the Block Party hosted by TK and Victory Nightlife at House of Blues for a night of... well, drunkenness and ignorance.

The Beat Freaks and Striker All-Stars will be in attendance along with DJs Mark Marcelo, Uncle Junie, Gabe Vega, and others. You can still buy your pre-sale tickets for $10 at www.ticketmaster.com. Hope to see you all there!

Girls, Girls, Girls

Last Saturday I drove up to LA with Ruby to meet up with Jessica, Eunice, and Destiny for the Beestings and Nosebleeds rooftop pool party at the Standard. I had been wanting to check this place out for a while and trust me, I was definitely not disappointed.

En route to the Standard. 5 girls in one car + crappy navigation = recipe for gettin' LOST.
Legs for days.
Jess and Matt are too cute.
Eunice and Destiny
Vodka tonics all day long.
"Gold. This is LA, its okay to be flashy."
This kinda looks like an ad. Ben's crazy.. he dove into the pool with his pants on.
Ruby and I were the last two to get into the pool..
Thanks for pulling me in the pool Ben. Ass.
Holler at it.
Love these girls. Another girls' outing is in the works.

After the Standard, we grabbed food and ate at Eunice's pad. Then we got frozen yogurt and met up with Mark Marcelo for a minute at Father's Office till Ruby and I left for our drive back to San Diego. Girls' day out = success. Can't wait for the next time!

Annabelle: Where'd you put it?
Jenn: Up top
Next to the laundry detergent.
Annabelle: Damn can't reach it
Jenn: There's a stool, down bottom
To your left
Annabelle: Ahaha
Down bottom?
Thank goodness gracious

You can't beat conversations or friends like these.

Oops.

I've been neglecting my blog for a couple weeks. I need to catch up on some posts from last month but we'll see if I actually find the time to and get around to it.
Today is Day 3 of working on base at Camp Pendleton. Its definitely going to take some getting used to. Being on a military base has this whole different feeling that I can't explain.. its such a weird community here. 90% of the time, its completely dead and I sit here on iChat and listen to Pandora all day. Then I get bombarded with a crazy rush of people and I don't have even 5 minutes to take a breath. Blahh.
