Promises are sometimes just that.. promises. A vow, a commitment, to give someone your word.
But then one day you realize that words are just sounds created by the vibration of vocal chords - meaningless until given one by the speaker
... meanings that are formed through the intentions of the speaker, then either validated or stripped of credibility by their actions.
and one day you realize that sometimes, people like to talk just to hear the sound of their own voices.
that's the day you also realize that sometimes, words are empty.
and that's when you finally learn not to listen, but to see.
