Have you ever heard a certain song and felt a familiar stir of emotions from your past? Most likely it'll be a song that was playing during a milestone in your life, like the first time you made love with someone, or the song that came on the radio just at the perfect moment during an epic road trip with your buddies. Maybe it's that one song you had on repeat while you cried your eyes out after that one breakup.

Music does more than just set the mood for me. I will literally avoid listening to certain songs and albums in my library sometimes because I don't want to "go back" to the places that they'll take me to. Some music is permanently associated with certain periods of my life, both good and bad. Zero 7's "Destiny" reminds me of nights I spent unwinding in a hot bubble bath with candles lit. Chromeo will forever bring me fond memories of a certain dear friend who used to play it all the time (you know who you are!) La Roux's "Bulletproof" was the anthem of a girls' night out in LA late last year. The entire Local Natives album Gorilla Manor was my go-to soundtrack during my recent trip to New York. Band of Horses made a terribly sad and perfect album of breakup songs. And a bbq just isn't a bbq if I haven't heard T.W.D.Y.'s "Players Holiday" at least once. The list goes on, but you get the point.

I know I'm not the only one.. everyone has a breakup album or two. But even beyond that, I'd be curious to hear what other people's songs are.
